30-31 May 2019 y. in Odessa hosted Ukrainian tasting contest of wine products "Odessa Gulf"
In Odessa, summarizing and awarding ceremony of Ukrainian tasting contest of wine products "Odessa Gulf". Chairman of the Regional Council Anatoly Urban and Acting Chairman of Regional State Administration Sergey Parashchenko presented the winners with certificates, medals and special diplomas. There were handed 15 gold medals and 21 – silver, most awards collected products of LLC "Industrial-trading company Shabo".
"Winemaking Odessa region, and in particular of Bessarabia, always been famous for the quality of the product, his personality. This competition allows producers to make themselves known to the Ukrainian and European markets, It opens new horizons for young enterprises. This is a good platform for the development and revival of the wine industry, creating a positive brand Ukrainian wine ", – said chairman Anatoly Urban Regional Council.
Recall, The contest is held 30 by 31 May under the patronage of the Odessa Regional Council of Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies. Evaluated samples of wines by blind tasting Ukrainian experts, having qualified WSET 2-4 level, world experience with winemaking. Each taste panel consisted of 7 members of the jury.
30 May 2019 all-Ukrainian contest of wine production was estimated 119 Ukrainian producer submitted samples, who provided 34 enterprises of Odessa region and other regions of Ukraine (cities – Dnieper, Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, lions, Uman, Vinnitsa). Most participants were from the Odessa region.
31 May 2019 y. held a tasting contest “SMART TESTING & FINE WINE INVESTING”, which was attended by the winemakers of the Republic of Moldova. In this tasting session was 54 wine product samples, of them 37 from Moldova and 17 from Ukraine.
"Ukrainian wine competition based Odessa Regional Council, The decision was taken at the last session to improve the culture of wine production and consumption of wine companies an effective tool to promote their products on the Ukrainian market. The competition is held in the Odessa area for the first time. Our region is the base for the Ukrainian winemaking, 70 percent of the wine base in Ukraine – produced in the Odessa region. We have a favorable climate and a scientific basis, in particular – Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies, which is one of the organizers of the contest.
As the representatives of the wineries was conducted forum, which discussed the sale of tools, specific industry challenges and solutions, machinery, protect the market from counterfeit and substandard products.
